Professional Development Focus
Professional identity is more than a title or certification. It shapes how interpreters approach their work, build trust, collaborate with others, and navigate the evolving demands of the profession. In this interactive workshop, participants will explore the many influences that shape professional identity, examine how their values and experiences impact their practice, and reflect on the role they bring to every assignment. Marcus Gunter is an experienced instructor, mentor, and certified interpreter with over 20 years in the field. He has studied at American River College, CSU Northridge, and Western Oregon University, providing him with a well-rounded approach to interpreting theory and practice. With additional expertise in education and technology, Marcus combines these fields to enhance interpreting work and shares his passion for lifelong learning with others in the profession.
